Wow. Amazing view. Lots of clean showers. Very spacious. Very clean. Very welcoming employees. Everything within driving distance 5-15 miles.

It is almost exclusively pine and spruce forest so expect sap and needles everywhere.

Just finished a stay.

Only thing negative is:

Lake has been closed for awhile it seems like.

It's a great spot for a low activity camp stay.

And gets very packed on weekends and phone lines are busy. Everything was booked by 11am on Friday so call ahead!

Enjoy'

Negatives: The pond was inaccessible due to high levels of bacteria in the water. Swimming areas are tiny and the pond is very shallow. The high number sites (65-75) on the eastern side are right against Rt. 202 so you will hear road noise 24hrs a day. The whole site is close to a commercial rail line so expect the occasional sound of a 10 minute cargo train passing by.

Campsites a bit on the not too secluded side and close r together than expected but how can that be a negative? Seems we all want to enjoy the place so no complaints from me.

I love the Forrest and camp areas. It is so peaceful. A great place to relax away from the clouds but still having access to restraunts & groceries close.

Very accommodating and professional staff. Immaculate bathrooms. The crowd so far on Labor Day Weekend Friday night us quiet and respectful.

Bathrooms are relatively clean and bright. Plenty of showers in the main shower building. The commercial dish washing station with hot water was a big bonus.

Sites are reasonably sized. Most will fit at least two to three tents. You'll have to scout for your personal preferences in regards to privacy, shade, sun, open space, etc. The yurts looked cool. The group sites look awesome.

Otter River State Park was overall a good place to camp, however the sites seem to be closer then they appear on the map and many are right next to each other. The attendant at the Gatehouse didn't seem too interested in listening to my question when attempting to check in(Maybe he needed another coffee at that point). Lots of families camping at this park with children up early burning off energy !! Very nice area with direct access to more state conservation and recreation land. Overall a Very Good Campground that is well kept !!

Positives: Otter River is a beautiful campground. The sites are kept clean and up to date while the surrounding area is perfectly manicured. The roads appear freshly paved and are perfect for biking/strolling. The rangers are around most of the day and are helpful. We found that even on the busier weekend the camp was relatively quiet and the other campers were respectful and responsible.
